About Us
Lock Arms for Life (LAFL) is a Central Texas-based nonprofit treating firearm safety as a vital public health priority—much like wearing a seat belt or securing a pool gate. We support the Second Amendment rights of Americans to own firearms, and we believe those rights come with a serious responsibility: to protect our families, friends, and communities from preventable firearm tragedies.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple: Lock every gun when not in use.
We believe that responsible storage is the most effective way to prevent accidental injury, unauthorized access, and unnecessary loss of life.
Our Vision
To build a safer Central Texas by making responsible firearm storage simple, accessible, and universal

How We Are Different
We navigate the middle ground of the firearm conversation, focusing on a path where rights and responsibilities coexist. Our work extends far beyond the home; by partnering with schools, parents, law enforcement, medical associations, hospitals, veterans' organizations, and community partners, we deliver essential safety resources directly into our community. Whether we are advising municipal leaders or providing free gun locks and educational literature directly to the public, our commitment is the same: we do not advocate for or against gun ownership—we focus entirely on safety, ensuring every citizen has the tools they need to protect their community.
Our Story
Lock Arms for Life was founded after unimaginable loss. Our founder, Leesa Ross, lost her son, Jon, in an accidental firearm discharge.
In his memory, Leesa turned tragedy into a mission focused on firearm safety, responsible storage, and prevention.
Our Team
Behind Lock Arms for Life is a dedicated team of professionals, volunteers, and community leaders committed to education, prevention, and public safety.
Together, we help expand access to safety resources and support communities across Texas and beyond.
Our Partners
Strong partnerships help us reach more families, distribute safety resources, and bring firearm safety education into more communities.
We work alongside healthcare providers, schools, law enforcement, public health organizations, and community groups that share our commitment to prevention.
